A Women’s Sacred Journey to the Flinders Ranges,
Broken Hill, Wilpena Pound and Arkaroola

                  Outback NSW and SA, Australia

                                        October 21 –  31, 2018

Welcome Beloveds and fellow adventurers!

We’re so looking forward to sharing this special journey with you.   For Registration, please email or phone Jane or Jacqui (details below).

This retreat is not about 'spiritual tourism' - it's emphasis is on personal and spiritual transformation, joy, service and connection with this sacred part of Australia.

When a special group such as this one comes together with a common loving intent, the effect is powerful. While we honour everyone's individuality, it's important that you be willing to share within group processes and come with a sense of being of service not only towards yourself, but with the land. There will be time for your own private experiences and reflections.

Due to the potentially powerful nature of this retreat, and for group cohesiveness, acceptance is not automatic. Please contact us, we'd love to hear how this land and experience is singing to your heart!

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions at all. As we get closer to the departure date we’ll be in touch to organise a ‘Zoom’ web date to firm up your travel arrangements go through any questions as well as beginning to come together as a group.

The retreat commences at 2.30pm on Sunday October 21, 2018.  Feel free to arrive from noon onwards, or perhaps book a night’s accommodation on the 21st.

The retreat finishes at 11am on Wednesday October 31, 2018.  If you’re catching a plane or train, or having a couple of extra nights in town, we’ll get you to where you need to go.

Getting there

If you have the time to drive and experience an outback road trip, this is a great way to do it.  If you’re driving from Sydney, we recommend staying a night at the Nyngan Riverside Caravan Park on the way to break up the journey and then doing the final leg the next day.

Rex Air is the airline that services Broken Hill.  Some flights are direct, and some stop at Dubbo.  Flights can be expensive – it’s good to book early. It's also possible to fly via Mildura an catch the bus (3.5 hours) to Broken Hill

There’s also the option of getting the train.  Once a week the train goes direct, and on other days it’s a train to Dubbo and then a long bus ride.  Not for the faint hearted!

We will provide our usual JnJ’s style delicious meals at Broken Hill and Beltana Station, though breakfast at Beltana will be in the restaurant.  Food sensitivities are catered for – please complete the information on the registration form about your dietary needs. As it is impossible to carry enough good fresh food supplies for the length of this journey, meals will be in the restaurant at Wilpena Pound and Arkaroola Resorts. We will pass dietary requirements to the chefs. We'll have picnic lunches each day.

Mulberry Vale   Accommodation is in self contained cabins that have two bedrooms, so while you’ll be sharing a cabin, you’ll have your own bedroom within it.  Each cabin has a bathroom, small sitting area and kitchenette.

Single cabins are also available for an additional cost of $180 for the 3 nights we’ll be at Mulberry.

Wilpena Pound Resort   Because of the remoteness and therefore exhorbitant cost of outback accommodation, particularly of this high calibre, accommodation while at Wilpena Resort for two nights will be shared with one other.  Single supplement for 2 nights is $295.  We would need to ensure that there are even numbers of you that require single supplement.

Beltana Station   Accommodation is in the old historic shearers quarters.  It’s basic, but you’ll have your own room.

Arkaroola Resort   You will have your own room in Greenwood Lodge, a simple motel style accommodation

What you need to bring

Loose, comfy clothing, with layers.  The days will probably be pretty warm, with cool nights.  The weather may be between 12 and 26C. Bring a warm jumper, scarf and wolly socks as well as lighter gear.

We have limited space in the cars. Please make sure you bring a small case only. For ease of packing, a duffel bag rather than a hard shelled case would be preferable. At our zoom meeting we will go over what you should bring.

  • Comfy walking shoes
  • Hat, sunglasses, water bottle, small thermos (if you like a hot drink while out and about) and a head torch
  • Journal, camera etc.

While it’s not necessary that you’re very fit, there will be walking on most days.  The terrain varies from level walking, navigating a few rocks, to steep (though not particularly difficult) walks up the Acacia Ridge trail (2-3 hours, going slowly for stops along the way). The road to the waterhole and on the Ridgetop tour are particularly bumpy and rough. They are suitable for large 4WD’s only.  It is essential that you are able to walk easily for an hour over uneven terrain.

If you have any medical conditions, please let us know.  We are travelling in a very remote area and the only medical services are at least an hour helicopter ride away. Please ensure you have all the medical supplies you may need.
